Why does the cylinder not respond to cards or other RFID media?

Please make sure that the black knob with sensor is firmly connected to the rest of the cylinder.  When the knob is properly connected, the blue light on top of the cylinder illuminates and a long beep will sound.

What is the inside or outside dimension? Can one select these when ordering?

You can specify special dimensions when ordering.  We need approximately 3 weeks for special order delivery.  Many dimensions like 30mm / 30mm, 35mm / 35mm, 40mm / 40mm, and 45mm / 45mm are available in stock.

Attention! The first number is the length from the center of the cylinder to the outside, the second number is the length from the center of the cylinder to the inside.

30 / 35 means 30mm from the center of the cylinder screw to the outside, and 35mm from the center of the cylinder screw to the inside.

Is the cylinder only suitable for doors with rosettes or even for doors with plates?

Fitting is possible if there is access to the entire cylinder from both sides of the door with the currently installed cylinder.

What does not work is when the fitting shows only a small slot of the cylinder.

Here’s how to measure the cylinder correctly:

Only SOREX RFID tags work or NFC is possible?

We have tested our SOREX RFID Tags. For foreign tags, we cannot guarantee their functionality with our system.

What happens when the battery is empty?

When the battery is low, an audible warning will sound when the lock is opened.  There are still approximately 100 openings possible.  When the battery is completely empty, the door can still be unlocked using the supplied emergency key.

SMART Door Handle

Why does the door handle not react to cards or other RFID media?

Please make sure that the outside section with the sensor is connected to the inside section by the cable at the top.  When the outside section is connected, the blue light will illuminate on the cylinder and a long beep will sound.

The door handle recognizes the RFID medium, but the door still cannot be opened?

Please note during assembly that when connecting the outside and inside sections, the top side of the spine lettering must read “TOP” to allow opening.

What happens when the battery is empty?

When the battery is low, an audible warning will sound when the lock is opened.  There are still approximately 100 openings possible.  If the battery is completely empty, the door can not be opened using the handle.

Why is one of my supplied RFID cards detected on the device, but the door will not open?

Please note that one of the two cards is a so-called management card, whose purpose is not for opening, but learning new media.  For details, see the Quick Start Guide that is included with the product.

SMART Digital Cylinder + Door Handle

What is the battery life of the digital cylinder and door handle?

The battery allows approximately 30,000 openings according to the product description.

Has the locking system, including the digital cylinder and door handle, forgotten the RFID media?

To prevent this type of error, you should only use one common management card whenever you use the same RFID media on multiple SMART products.  For details, see the Quick Start Guide that is included with the product.

Door Phone & Code

How many users can the Door Phone & Code be taught?

You can program 6 smartphones and assign an additional 18 keyboard codes.

What is the difference between door-PIN and default-PIN?

The default-PIN is used to test the device during installation.  If the default-PIN is entered, the Door Phone & Code triggers an opening impulse.  This allows the installer to check whether the device is functioning properly.  The default-PIN can be used until the door-PIN is entered for the first time.  The door-PIN is for the end user only.  This is used to grant access permissions.  All information is detailed in the instruction manual.

Why are keystrokes poorly recognized?

In the case of the Door Phone & Code version with plastic covering, moisture may enter between the cover and the device.  Remove the bezel and clean both parts with a cloth.  After replacing it, the keyboard should react again as desired.

Is the communication between the outside and inside unit encrypted?

Yes! The outdoor and indoor units are logically linked.  Only the outdoor unit belonging to the relay can trigger an opening.

Wireless Key 4.0

Why doesn't my WirelessKey 4.0 System recognize the RFID medium?

Was the WirelessKey 4.0 ordered with RFID capability?

Is the communication between the outside and inside unit encrypted?

Yes! The outdoor and indoor units are logically linked.  Only the outdoor unit belonging to the relay can trigger an opening.

Is it possible to operate the device via POE (Power over Ethernet)?

Yes! However, an adapter is necessary.  This is commercially available.

Is it possible to synchronize the device via WLAN?

Yes! However, an adapter is necessary.  Operation via WLAN is not recommended by SOREX.

The smartphone is stored in the system, why won't the door open?

Bluetooth must be switched to visible on the smartphone.  For most smartphones, this is the case when the Bluetooth menu is opened.  Alternatively, the SOREX Door Opener App can be used.

Fingerprint Door Opener

How many fingers can be taught?

A total of 150 fingers can be stored.

How do I learn a new finger?

The first 3 fingers scanned over the fingerprint reader are the master / programming fingers.  To teach more user fingers, only a legitimate master finger is scanned and then the new user’s finger.  Finally, the learning of the new user finger is confirmed with another scanning of the master finger.

How do I delete user fingers?

In order to delete user fingers, first a legitimate master finger is scanned and then the user finger to be deleted.  This is confirmed with another scanning of the master finger.

What do I do if the user finger to be deleted is no longer available?

The fingerprint reader can be reset (brought to default settings).  This is done via the supplied remote control.  Following this, all previously authorized fingers must be taught again.
